Chives, White Flowered Plant

Plant Information:

Allium schoenoprasum f. albiflorum

Harvest: April to October
Height/Spread: 30cm x 20cm
Flowers: May to June
Position: Part to full sun in moist, fertile ground or a pot

Something a little different: pure white flowers rather than the typical purple. Plants tend to be shorter with narrower leaves than the standard form.

Seed produced will likely cross with the standard form (if you have them growing in close proximity) so progagate through bulb division to keep the white strain going.

Supplied in a 1 litre coir pot that is fully biodegradable and can be planted straight into the ground.

Notes:

Leaves tend to be a deeper green than the standard form and have a stronger flavour, perhaps closer to the greens of spring onions. As happy in a pot as it is in open ground.
