Sow: April to May Harvest: July to September Height: 1.2m+
Certainly something different – think cucumbers with a hint of lime. Will happily grow outside in a large pot with somethingnto climb up. Great as an addition to salads or pickled to remind you of the warmth of summer in the cold winter months.
Start seed off undercover in mid-April.We've found that sowing in individual cells works best, then pot on into 7cm pots when large enough to handle.
Seeds germinate in 14-28 days.
Cucamelons need something to climb up. A south facing wall is ideal, but an obelisk or similar structure will do the job just as well. Resist the temptation to plant out too early as they won't put on growth until the soil warms and the nights aren't as cold.
