Plant Information:
Cuminum cyminum
Sow: Late March to May
Flowers: July to August
Harvest: September
More commonly grown in warmer climates, but we reckon it's worth a crack in this country – especially with the milder Autumns we've had in recent years.
Sowing instructions:
Sow from late March onwards. Sow a few seeds in a 7cm pot, cover lightly with compost and place on a sunny windowsill. Germination takes 7 to 10 days. Pot on when first true leaves appear and roots fill pot
Growing instructions:
Needs a long and warm growing season, so best in a greenhouse or a polytunnel, but will do well in a sheltered spot or in a pot on a sunny patio.
Notes:
None, currently.
