Chard 'Bright Lights' - Pack of 50 Seeds Beta vulgaris
Sow: February to October Harvest: June to April Height: 60cm+
A vegetable no patch should be without – plants produce leaves throughout the year and the bright colours add interest even in the depths of winter.
For early sowings start in Jiffy 7C pellets (available here) or seed trays, then pot on into 7cm pots, and again into 9cm before planting out. Can be sown direct later in the year.
Seeds germinate in 7-14 days.
Allow at least 20cm between plants. Harvest regularly throughout the growing season to encourage new growth.
Beta vulgaris Sow: February to October Harvest: June to April Height: 60cm+ We love the element of surprise with this culltivar – you never know whether you'll have red, yellow or cream coloured stems. Reliable, and heavy cropping with many uses in the kitchen. Sowing instructions: Sow from late February under cover/early March open ground. Sow thinly (to avoid waste) with 30cm between rows.
